Venturing Shooting Sports Weekend

Posted by Webmaster on May 16, 2012 in Camping, News

Venturing Crew 259 will be having a Shooting Sports weekend event and has invited any eligible members from Troop 259 to join.  Contact Mr. Ball if you need more information.

We will be camping at Pipsico Friday June 14th and Saturday June 16th and will have range access on Saturday during the day. Aimee Palmer is a qualified shooting sports director for the BSA and we will have time on the range to satisfy the shooting sports elective for the Outdoor Bronze Award. We will also spend some time running a 2.5 mile orienteering course to satisfy the orienteering core requirement for the award. In lieu of paying for camping, we spend some time helping Evan and Jenny Sommerfeld get the camp ready for Summer Camp by setting up tents in our campsite and helping to set up a tomahawk range.  This activity is available for scouts aged 14 or older. Come try out Venturing.

You can sign-up for the event here.
